Podcast: He Caddied For Jones

Every once in a while when I stumble on some old cassette tapes in the attic… I ask myself why I’m saving these things.

Well… this week is one of those reasons why. Today we continue to celebrate the history of Merion with a look back at the 1930 US Amateur… the championship when Bobby Jones wrapped up the Grand Slam.

And among those old cassettes in my attic.. is a 1989 interview I did with the local guy who had caddied for Jones that week in 1930. Howard Rexford was 78 at the time of our talk… and I enjoyed going back in time with him to a magical week at Merion. His memories are in this podcast:
